BILL HANDEL WINS R&R'S LOCAL TALENT OF THE YEAR 2008

Here's Radio and Records' Account of Their Awards Ceremony in 2008 for Radio Industry Awards. This represents Bill's Third win for this coveted award.

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The R&R 2008 News/Talk/Sports Industry Achievement Award winners were revealed on Saturday, March 15 at the R&R Talk Radio Seminar closing lunch. Clear Channel's KFI/Los Angeles took home four awards: Robin Bertolucci was recognized as PD Of The Year; Bill Handel was honored as Local Personality Of The Year; the station itself garnered Station Of The Year Markets 1-25; and Clear Channel Radio/Los Angeles' Greg Ashlock was awarded the GM Of The Year prize.

There was a tie in the Station Of The Year Markets 26+ category between Bonneville's KSL-AM & FM/Salt Lake City and Clear Channel's WLW/Cincinnati. Premiere Radio Networks' Rush Limbaugh was celebrated as the Syndicated Personality Of The Year, and Gabe Hobbs won for Radio Executive Of The Year. Harvey Nagler of CBS Radio News received accolades as News Radio Executive Of The Year, and finally, Kraig Kitchin, formerly of Premiere Radio Networks took the prize for News/Talk/Sports Industry Executive of the Year.
