Attorney
Tuscaloosa, Alabama, 35401
I was born and raised in a small town in southeast Ohio. My dad was a high school teacher with an ardent passion for teaching and an uncanny sense of optimism.
His optimism taught me that if I just kept learning and working hard, there would be a payoff in the end. I turned out to be more of a realist, but I still believe that knowledge is power. No one has ever called me because something good happened in their life. I take that responsibility very seriously.
It is my privilege to walk individuals and families through an unexpected challenge to help them achieve a just result. In working with my clients, I aim to be as transparent as possible about their case so that they can be empowered by knowledge.
My professional background as a prosecutor gives me a unique understanding of the criminal justice system. In addition to a law degree, I have a Master’s of Public Administration which allows me to bridge the gap between families and academic institutions.
I love coffee and weightlifting. I live in Tuscaloosa with my husband Will and our many animals. My dad is still my biggest cheerleader.
My philosophy in practicing law is that no one should have to navigate the courthouse or higher education violation process by themselves. My mission is to assist individuals, student and families navigate one of the most stressful times of their lives.
Whether this is your first involvement with the criminal justice system, or you have a long rap sheet, you deserve to have someone by your side who will stand up for your rights.
At Kate Furek Law, LLC, no one is turned away because of who you are, what you look like, who you love, or how you pray. You belong here.
