John Cashion is a founding partner of Cashion Gilmore LLC. He represents individuals and corporations in a variety of settings, focusing his practice on criminal defense in both federal and state court, as well as complex civil litigation.

John’s practice as a licensed attorney began in federal court as a clerk for the Honorable James K. Singleton. During that time, he developed a passion for criminal defense and subsequently worked for the Alaska Public Defender Agency in both rural and urban settings. John ultimately became the supervisor of the trial unit in the Anchorage office of the Public Defender Agency, overseeing all felony and misdemeanor trial attorneys.

John continues his work as a criminal defense attorney and has also developed a robust practice in civil litigation. In addition to Anchorage, he has extensive exposure to trial practice in rural Alaska, having litigated cases in Bethel, Dillingham, Juneau, Kodiak, Kotzebue, Nome and Palmer. John views trial practice as a stronghold of his career and enjoys representing fellow Alaskans in trial settings.
