Kenneth “Patricio” Smith is the Founder and Managing Partner of Smith Alston Darner & Lee, a bi-lingual (Spanish) law firm specializing in Serious Injury/ Wrongful Death Law and Immigration Law. Ken has practiced law in Arizona since 1985. Ken speaks fluent Spanish and is among the most recognized and respected attorneys in the Hispanic Community in Phoenix, Arizona. In 2011, Ken was recognized by his peers as one of Arizona’s “Finest Attorneys”. From 1976 to 1978,
Ken served a mission for Chile's Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. In 1981, Ken received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in International Relations from Brigham Young University. In 1985, Ken graduated from the Pepperdine University School of Law with a Juris Doctor Degree. During his second year of law school, Ken also completed the Institute of International and Comparative Law in Mexico City.
Ken has served as a Pro Tem Judge for the Maricopa County Superior Court since 2005, assigned to the Justice Courts since 2005. In 2011, Ken received the “Friend of the Year Award” by the Hispanic Community. In 2012, Ken was appointed by the President of Chile to serve as the Honorary Consul for Chile in Arizona. He is currently serving as the Vice-Chairman of the Consular Corps of Arizona. Ken also provides expert political advice and arranges media contacts for local, state and federal candidates who are seeking the votes and financial support of the Hispanic Community. Over the last 25 years, Ken has been interviewed many times by local Spanish radio stations, television, and local Hispanic newspapers. Ken is married to Minyon Romney Smith. They have 3 children and 11 grandchildren!
