More About Tien P. Le

Tien Le represents California school districts in education law matters. His experience in the field ranges from investigating complaints alleging violations of unlawful discrimination, harassment and intimidation, assisting with governance-related issues including Brown Act compliance, and responses to Public Records Act requests. He has advised client school districts regarding pupil issues, including free speech and school searches and seizure, and has assisted districts in a number of employment-related matters.

Mr. Le has extensive experience assisting districts with charter school matters, including the review of charter petitions and compliance with statutory oversight duties, the preparation of Findings of Fact to support the district’s denial of charter petitions, and the defense of the district’s non-renewal of a charter petition at the county and state levels. He is proficient in Vietnamese.

While attending the University of California, San Diego, Mr. Le worked as a tutor and mentor for the school’s Early Academic Outreach Program. In this capacity, he played a key role in establishing a local high school’s ELC (Eligibility in the Local Context) program, which proved instrumental to increasing admittance of students into UC schools.

He subsequently received a Full Merit Scholarship to attend Chapman University’s Dale E. Fowler School of Law, where he graduated in the top 25% of his class. While earning his law degree, he worked as a law clerk for several divisions of the Orange County District Attorney’s Office. In this capacity, he gained experience researching and drafting legal documents, managing cases, interviewing witnesses, and conducting cross examinations of defendants. Additionally, Mr. Le served as President of the school’s Vietnamese American Law Students Association (VALSA).
