Sharman L. Brooks is an Attorney and Certified Family Law Specialist who has focused exclusively on Family Law matters for the past 20 years.
She represents clients in Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino and San Diego County courts.
Prior to starting her career in Family Law, she held a diverse array of positions, including Contract Counsel, San Diego District Attorney's Office, Family Support Division; Small Claims Advisor, San Diego Municipal Court; Law Clerk, San Diego Attorney General's Office, Writs, Trials and Appeals Division; and Law Clerk, Orange County Superior Court, Legal Research and Writing Division.
She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and Juris Doctorate from Thomas Jefferson School of Law in San Diego.
While in law school, she was honored with American Jurisprudence Awards in Contracts II and Legal Research and Writing, as well as the Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges in Recognition of Outstanding Merit and Accomplishment. She held elected positions with the Student Bar Association, including Vice-President, and participated in the International Human Rights Law Program at Oxford University in England.
In 2009, she was certified by the California Board of Legal Specialization as a Family Law Specialist which demonstrates a high level of experience in Family Law, passing a written examination, fulfilling ongoing education requirements, and receiving favorable evaluations from Attorneys and Judges familiar with her work.
She chose Family Law because she truly cares about her clients and helping them through what is often the most difficult time in their lives. Her mission, and that of Newport Family Law & Mediation Group, is to maintain the highest level of integrity, professionalism, and tenacity in order to achieve the best results.
