Jade McKenzie is an associate in the Orange County office of Lewis Brisbois and a member of the Labor & Employment Practice. Jade's practice primarily includes defending private and public entity employers against claims of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation brought before the Department of Fair Employment and Housing, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and Division of Labor Standards Enforcement. Jade also represents employers against claims involving wage and hour disputes and violations of the California Labor Code.
In 2018, Jade presented at the Orange County Employment and Workers’ Compensation Law Seminar on defending against wage and hour liability, providing recommendations and best practices for California employers to reduce their risk of exposure. She is also a member of Lewis Brisbois’s editorial team and regularly prepares client alerts and legal updates relating to trending topics surrounding employment litigation in California.
Jade is also an Adjunct Professor at Chapman University School of Law, where she teaches a practical course on Civil Procedure. Jade earned her law degree from Chapman and was the Valedictorian of her graduating class. Jade also became a DRPA certified mediator through Chapman's mediation clinic where she personally resolved civil harassment and small claims disputes in Riverside County. In her spare time, Jade enjoys spending time outdoors with her family and Miniature American Eskimo dog.
