More About Davy Aaron Karkason

Before I founded this law firm, I envisioned taking on cases and resolving issues that initially seemed impossible to solve. The truth as to why I wanted to practice international arbitration and international litigation is because of a past experience of mine… When I was 13 years old in Lausanne, Switzerland, my father owned a textile company that produced, imported, and traded raw materials, including wool and cotton. My father invested in Uzbekistan, purchasing factories in which he owned 50% of the shares, and the government owned the remaining 50%. After months in business in Uzbekistan, my father learned of financial discrepancies and order mismanagement.

He also learned the government of Uzbekistan was planning to incarcerate my father’s employees, specifically from Turkey. Within hours, my father traveled from Switzerland to Uzbekistan to safely evacuate his employees, providing them flights back to their homes in Turkey.

Sure enough, the government expropriated my father’s assets and did not provide adequate protection as promised under the Bilateral Investment Treaty. Due to this expropriation, my father’s business shut down and almost led us to bankruptcy, facing a turbulent next few years. We were forced to leave Switzerland and live in Turkey and Israel for some time. While in Turkey, I learned about my great-grandfather Jack Mitrani, who practiced international law and litigation between the 1950’s-90’s, aiding governments and foreign investors, and helped thousands of Holocaust survivors recover their seized assets from the Nazi regime. Even in the late 2000’s while I was in Turkey, his name and legend remained. This inspired me to pursue a career in international law as I aim to become the best lawyer that I can be. I often think back to how I could have helped my father had I been a lawyer then. Today as a lawyer, I represent numerous international companies, nations, and individuals, in a wide variety of industries in Florida, the U.S., and abroad. I am dedicated to giving the best legal representation within the realm of international law. I am also dedicated to providing the best legal guidance to nation States and Investors within the realm of Investor-State Dispute Settlement or International Commercial Arbitration and Treaty legal guidance.
