Sophia is the managing partner of Arshad, Pangere & Warring, LLP. Licensed to practice in state and federal courts, she was admitted to the Indiana State Bar in 2003, the Illinois State Bar in 2004, and the U.S. District Court for the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana in 2003. Her legal practice includes handling various civil law matters, including estate planning, probate, guardianships, real estate, civil litigation, family law, appeals, and immigration matters, including family immigration, citizenship, employment, and workplace compliance.
She is licensed to practice law in both Indiana and Illinois. Computer literate and multilingual, Sophia is often able to communicate effectively with foreign language-speaking clients without employing the services of a translator.
Punjabi-speaking clients appreciate that they can deal directly with a lawyer to file complex legal documents. Sophia stays ahead of the curve within the legal profession. She often attends continuing education seminars on cutting-edge topics in the law. She is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, American Bar Association, Indiana Bar Association, Illinois Bar Association, Lake County Bar Association, Chicago Bar Association, American Inns of Court, Psi Chi Honor Society in Psychology, Save the Dunes Board Member, frequent volunteer speaker and activist in the community concerning Immigration Law, and a regular presenter at continuing education seminars in various areas of practice.
She shared her knowledge of the law as an undergraduate adjunct professor at Davenport University, teaching labor and employment law and immigration law. Sophia demonstrates a desire to achieve professional excellence. She attended the University of Chicago as an undergraduate, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with a premedical concentration in 1996.
Based on her undergraduate academic achievement, she graduated with honors and was inducted into the Psi Chi Honor Society in Psychology. As a graduate student, Sophia attended Valparaiso University School of Law, where she earned her Juris Doctorate and graduated cum laude in 2003.
Her record of achievement continued: she earned a joint Master of Arts degree in Psychological Foundations; she was part of the Honors Program; she held the position of editor for the Valparaiso University Law Review; she concentrated her studies on elder care and healthcare issues; she was a civil law clinic intern in 2003; she pursued the Methodist Hospital’s externship, and she was a Dean’s Scholarship and ISBA Scholarship recipient.
