Andrea D. Jaeger practices in federal and state courts, including federal criminal matters ranging from gun offenses, drug offenses, VICAR and RICO offenses, to fraud offenses and white collar defense, and state criminal matters ranging from OWI cases to sex abuse and homicide. Andrea handles matters at the trial court level as well as at the appellate level. In addition to Andrea’s work in criminal defense, Andrea’s background includes defending civil suits involving legal malpractice, negligence, and civil rights claims against law enforcement officers.
Andrea is the Chair of the Young Lawyers Division of the Scott County (Iowa) Bar Association and the chair of the Mock Trial Committee of the Scott County (Iowa) Bar Association. Andrea is also a member of the Executive Council of the Scott County (Iowa) Bar Association, a member of the Criminal Law Section Council of the Iowa State Bar Association, a member of the Federal Practice Committee of the Iowa State Bar Association, and a Commissioner for the District Judicial Nominating Commission of the 7th Judicial District. Further, Andrea is a member of the Dillon Inn of Court, Scott County (Iowa) Bar Association, Rock Island (Illinois) Bar Association, Iowa Bar Association, Illinois Bar Association, American Bar Association, Defense Research Institute, Illinois Association of Defense Trial Counsel, Iowa Defense Counsel Association, and the Iowa Organization of Women Attorneys.
Andrea has presented at numerous meetings and conferences on matters involving criminal defense, including federal procedure, gun laws, white collar matters, diversity, and other legal issues. In 2017 and 2018, she was named among Rising Starsâ„ for White Collar Criminal Defense, and in 2016, she received the Iowa Defense Counsel Association Rising Star Award.
Andrea has served as a classroom volunteer with Junior Achievement and a panelist for local high school students interested in becoming an attorney. She also volunteers as a board member for the Humane Society of Scott County.
Andrea received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Northern Iowa, graduating summa cum laude and double majoring in Criminology and Psychology. She received the Purple and Old Gold Award from Northern Iowa, granted to one student in a major for outstanding scholarship, as well as admission into Psi Chi International Honor Society, Omicron Delta Kappa National Honor Society, and Golden Key International Honour Society. Andrea then received her Master of Science degree from Iowa State University, where she was also inducted into the Alpha Kappa Delta International Honor Society and the American Sociological Association.
Andrea received her Juris Doctorate from Drake University, where she graduated with highest honors. Andrea served as Managing Editor of the Drake Law Review, Treasurer of Drake’s Moot Court Board, Chair of the C. Edwin Moore Moot Court Competition, and Chair of the First Year Oral Arguments Moot Court Competition. Andrea has also been admitted into the Order of the Coif. She resides in Davenport, Iowa and heads the Quad Cities (Davenport) office of Keegan, Tindal, & Jaeger.
