Sam has been a practicing attorney since 2008. His firm handles civil litigation. Sam primarily focuses on catastrophic injury cases, trucking cases, class actions and civil rights. Sam is a prolific trial attorney and goes to trial more than nearly any other plaintiff’s attorney in the state. Amongst his accomplishments are the state’s first insurance bad faith class action settlement, the largest civil rights settlement in the state, a recent 1.2 million dollar verdict for a wrongful police pursuit, negotiating police reform with the city of Louisville and compelling policy changes within police departments, trucking companies and insurance companies. Sam routinely presents what he’s learned to trial lawyer organizations and law students across the country.
Sam is the proud father of two sons, one in college and one in elementary school. He owns several thoroughbred race horses, who he typically names after his best friends and family members. Sam takes tremendous pride in more than 75 percent of his employees owning their own homes. He attributes all of his professional accomplishments to his wife, Janelle, and his amazing team in the office. Without them, he’d be nothing.
