Attorney
Louisville, Kentucky, 40223
When Schuyler graduated high school in 2010, he decided he needed to go far away to experience different cultures and a different lifestyle. At the time, the furthest place he could think of was Montana. Schuyler spent four years at Montana State University where he focused his time studying Political Science and Agriculture. Throughout his time there, Schuyler worked as a ranch hand, a car detailer, and a campaigner. Upon graduation, he came to the Commonwealth to work on his family farm just outside of Lexington.
After grueling hours in the hot sun and a general realization that he would never get a vacation day as a farmer, Schuyler decided to follow in his parents’ footsteps and become an attorney. Once again left with the choice of where to go to law school, Schuyler again decided to go to a place no one he knew would consider or knew anything about; the University of Mississippi, School of Law.
While attending Ole Miss, Schuyler became a rabid SEC football fan, a lover of grits and greens, and a “passable” knowledge of the phrase, “Bless your heart.” During his time in law school he was a Campaign Coordinator, a clerk for a Magistrate Judge of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Mississippi, and a summer associate with a Labor and Employment firm in Jackson, MS. He also spent his time working for the George C. Cochran Innocence Project evaluating potential exoneration claims, and drafted an appeal for the Mississippi Supreme Court under the supervision of the Criminal Appeals Clinic
Following graduation from law school, Schuyler returned to Kentucky to join the Louisville Metro Public Defender’s Office. During his time there, Schuyler represented some of the most vulnerable in our community. A heavy caseload and daily court appearances honed his skills as a creative, strategic, litigator.
Since joining Barrow Brown PLLC, Schuyler’s practice is now devoted to making sure every one of our clients are vigorously advocated for in all matters before the Family Courts. Schuyler brings his valuable experience as a litigator to all of our clients.
Schuyler lives in the Highlands where he spends much of his time either at Highland Morning or at Carmichaels Bookstore. When not in the courtroom, he is an avid reader, writer, and outdoorsman.
