John M. Jefcoat is a lifelong resident of Lafayette, Louisiana. Having grown up in Scott and having lived in Lafayette, John believes he has a feel for the people of Acadiana. John has lived in Hammond, Louisiana, where he attended Southeastern Louisiana University and then earned his degree in Business Administration in 1986 from the University of Southwestern Louisiana, now the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
After graduation, John went into private business and, for some time, lived in Guatemala City, Guatemala. In 1992, John entered law school at Southern University and lived in Baton Rouge with his family. John graduated from Southern University Law School in 1995, magna cum laude. John always knew Lafayette would be his home and returned in 1995.
In 1996, John became a founding partner of the personal injury law firm Galloway Jefcoat. Galloway Jefcoat strives to meet the needs of injured persons throughout Louisiana and serve individuals and families in more than 25 other states. John is married to June Odom Jefcoat. They have two children, Johnae Jefcoat, married to Dylan Broussard, Jacob Jefcoat, and Brittany Reviere, and three grandchildren, Eden, Noelle, and Navy Jefcoat.
