Kain and Scott, P.A.
Maple Grove, Minnesota, 55369
I grew up in a family of nine children in Foley, Minnesota. My dad worked in a factory in St. Cloud and my mom was a work-at-home mom who also babysat other children to earn grocery money (imagine caring for other children when you already have 9 of your own!?). We grew up in a big family, with a lot of love, but little money.
Being the 7th of 9 kids, I usually wore clothes from that famous German fashion designer ‘Hans-me-downs’. I started to buy my own clothes when I was 10 years old because I didn’t look good in my older sister’s pink coat with sparkly fur on the hood. I quickly learned how to make a buck or two, usually by mowing lawns, painting, bailing hay or babysitting. On many occasions, I paid for some or all of my own dentist and long distance bills.
My college days were also pretty lean. One summer, I rented a garage (for cheap), which I lived in while I worked two jobs. After finally graduating from law school, I had student loan payments that were as large as some people’s house payments!
I understand the financial pressures my clients face because I experienced these same pressures growing up. I know that most of my clients end up in debt through no fault of their own. People call Kain & Scott P.A. because of business failure (many businesses fail, that is a fact of life), income drop (bad economy or otherwise), divorce (happens to many), medical problems (how can you help that?), and bad financial decisions (we have all made them!).
I believe I am a good Minnesota Bankruptcy Lawyer because I understand the fear of having overwhelming debt you may not be able to repay. I love being a part of the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys because it allows me to give people hope that, together, we can get their lives back. At Kain & Scott, P.A. we have over 47 years of combined bankruptcy experience in one place to help you do just that!
