Attorney
Rochester, Michigan, 48307
I have been an attorney for over 31 years, specializing in bankruptcy since I graduated from law school. When I first graduated from law school, I was a law clerk for two bankruptcy judges. I then worked for a law firm that represented creditors in bankruptcy cases. I started my practice in 1998 and now represent people that need to file for bankruptcy. I am also a Chapter 7 Federal Bankruptcy Trustee. Because of my different experiences in the bankruptcy process, I have seen and know how all parts of the Court and process work.
That is a unique advantage to those I represent in any bankruptcy case. I have represented thousands of folks who have had to file consumer bankruptcy, either in a Chapter 7 case or a Chapter 13. As a Chapter 7 trustee, I have also administered many consumer cases. In each case, I have seen how the financial difficulties faced by individuals and families impact every part of their lives if not handled correctly or handled without care and professionalism. I am a member of the State Bar of Michigan, the American Bankruptcy Institute, and the Consumer Bankruptcy Association, where I served as President from 1999 to 2007.
I was named Consumer Bankruptcy Association’s 2012 Member of the Year. I am certified by the American Bankruptcy Institute in Consumer Bankruptcy. I have lectured on bankruptcy issues to various legal and lay groups, including the ABI, CBA, and the Federal Bar Association Western District of Michigan’s Annual Seminar. I received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Eastern Michigan University in 1977 and my J.D. degree from the University of Detroit in 1983. I am an active resident in my church and the local community.
