Amanda Jane Proctor practices with the Wright Gregg & Proctor, P.A. where she focuses exclusively on the family law area. She was admitted to the Courts of Mississippi in the Fall of 2009. After practicing as an associate for a number of years, Amanda became a partner in Wright Gregg & Proctor, P.A. in 2017.
Amanda grew up on the Reservoir in the suburbs of Jackson, and is a 2002 graduate of Northwest Rankin High School. In 2006, Amanda earned degrees in English and Mathematics from the University of Mississippi. During her undergraduate years at Ole Miss, she was a Taylor Medalist, maintained a 4.0 GPA, and graduated with summa cum laude distinction. Amanda was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa Liberal Arts Honorary.
Amanda then pursued her law degree at Ole Miss, where she was a member of the Mississippi Law Journal, and graduated first in her class. She was the recipient of the Lamar Order Scholarship, the Mississippi Bar Family Law Section Scholarship, the Martha Wilson Gerald MWLA Scholarship, among many others. Amanda won thirteen Outstanding Student Awards in law school, including Family Law in the fall semester of 2007. She earned first place in the ABA Commission on Domestic Violence’s 2008 Law Student Writing Competition with Breaking Into the Marital Home to Break Up Domestic Violence: Fourth Amendment Analysis of ‘Disputed Permission’, published in Journal of Gender, Social Policy & the Law, 2009 Issue, Vol. 17, No. 2; and National Association of Women Lawyers’ Women Lawyers Journal, Fall 2008 Issue, Vol. 93, No. 4.
In her practice, Amanda strives to use her unique skills of advocacy, research and empathy, applying them to her client's particular legal question. Family law can be challenging, and meeting those challenges is Amanda's passion and pursuit. Amanda is active within the Mississippi Bar, currently serving as a member of the Family Law Section’s Executive Committee. She has spoken at numerous family law functions, including the 2nd Family Law Panel hosted by the Family Law Society of Mississippi College School of Law and the 16th Annual Family Law CLE hosted by Professor Deborah Hodges Bell.
She was recently honored as one of the 2016 Class of Portico 10, and she received the 2018 Pro Bono Award from the Mississippi Volunteers Lawyers Project.
Amanda is proud mother to a little boy and a member of Broadmoor Baptist Church.
