He graduated from Parkview High School in Springfield and went on to earn an undergraduate degree in Accounting from the School of Business Administration at Missouri State University in Springfield. He earned his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Missouri – Kansas City school of Law. Immediately after graduating from law school, Mark worked as in house counsel for a large international professional services consulting firm serving corporate clients through the world on a multitude of tax and legal issues. With a desire to work more directly with real clients on personal legal issues, Mark entered private practice and subsequently opened the law firm of Mark A. Wortman, LC in Kansas City, Missouri.
