Corey was born in Grand Island, Nebraska, and attended Hastings College in Hastings, Nebraska where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree with highest distinction in Forensic Psychology in 1994.Corey received his law degree in 1997 with distinction from the University of Nebraska College of Law.
Corey has been in private practice working as a trial lawyer in Lincoln since 1997. His primary areas of work are personal injury litigation, railroad litigation, employment law, whistleblower law, and general civil litigation. Corey has enjoyed a great deal of success for his clients in the courtroom including recent six and seven figure judgments.
Corey has been a presenter at various personal injury, employment, insurance, and railroad law seminars, both locally and nationally. Corey has also written materials for the Railroad Litigator's Notebook on topics related to the Federal Employer's Liability Act (FELA) and the Americans with Disabilities Act. Corey joined the firm in 2017 and he continues to represent accident and injury victims, injured railroad employees under the FELA, and parties in employment and other civil litigation matters throughout the Midwest.
Corey is admitted to practice in all the state and federal courts of Nebraska and Iowa as well as in the Federal District Court of Colorado and the Court of Federal Claims. Corey is a member of the American Civil Liberties Union Nebraska, serving on the organization's lawyers panel, as well as a member of the Lincoln Bar Association, Nebraska State Bar Association, Iowa State Bar Association, Nebraska Association of Trial Lawyers, American Association for Justice and the American Bar Association.
Corey has been involved in youth athletics for many years coaching basketball and soccer and serving as the president of the Lincoln Soccer Association. Corey also sits on the Board of Trustees of the Lutheran Education Foundation and currently serves as its president. Corey, his wife, Jeanette who is also a lawyer in Lincoln, and daughters, Lauren and Harper, enjoy traveling to the beaches of Nicaragua every chance they get.
