Hannah C. Sommers is a skilled and effective divorce and family law attorney. Hannah has worked exclusively in the area of divorce and family law since 2013. Hannah is an accomplished litigator and she focuses her law practice exclusively on high conflict marital dissolution actions, custody disputes, modification actions, and the identification and division of complex marital assets. Hannah has been listed as a Great Plains Rising Star by SuperLawyers® on a consistent basis from 2017-2020, a recognition only awarded to 2.5% of up-and-coming lawyers.
Prior to entering the practice of law, Hannah worked as a television broadcast news anchor and news reporter for NBC stations in Columbia, Missouri and Topeka, Kansas. Hannah has a passion and a gift for connecting with people, and communicating clearly with clients to educate them about the law and procedure as she works through each case. In addition, Hannah specializes in cases that involve determination of income with complex compensation structures, as well as the valuation of business interests in privately held businesses.
Not only does Hannah have experience negotiating the complex and nuanced details of divorce and custody settlements, she is highly effective in contested proceedings in the courtroom when settlement is not possible. Hannah also drafts and negotiates premarital agreements. She enjoys working with clients to ensure that their needs are met and they feel secure in their future. Regardless of the legal issue or type of case at hand, Hannah strives to maintain compassion and an awareness of her client’s individual challenges and goals in order to determine the most effective and efficient path to resolution.
When Hannah is not in the office, she enjoys spending time outdoors in the fresh air, traveling, golfing, and hanging out with her husband, Dave (the Executive Director of the Omaha Bar Association) and their five pound pride and joy, a Chihuahua named Hector.
