Marcel Wurms has been practicing law since 1982. He graduated from Syracuse Univeristy with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting and from Rutgers Law with a Juris Doctor degree. While at Rutgers, Mr. Wurms concentrated in taxation.
After graduating, he was hired by Arthur Young (now Ernst & Young) directly into their tax department. He then went on to work for Price Waterhouse as a tax manager. From there, he was hired by one of his clients, Beecham (now Glaxo SmithKline) as an international tax manager and manager of tax planning. From there, he was the Director of Taxes for the Great Atlantic and Pacific Tea Company, before starting his own law practice in 1991.
In addition to his law license, Mr. Wurms was licensed as a Certified Public Accountant and a Real Estate Agent by the State of New Jersey.
Marcel is also very community minded, having volunteered for many years. He formerly coached both girls softball and girls soccer on several levels. He has served as a member of his local Board of Education. He served on the Board of Directors of the Lodi Boys and Girls Club for approximately 15 years, including a term as president. He was also a vice president of the New Jersey Association of Boys and Girls Club. He has been a member of Garfield Truck 4 for over twenty years. He is also an honorary member of the Lodi Fire Department.
He has been involved in Emergency Management for over twenty years, and is currently the Deputy Emergency Management Coordinator of his town. He is also a member of the Bergen County Office of Emergency Management, serving as an Operations Section Chief.
He is an active member of the Lodi Moose Lodge, currently serving as the Outer Guard. You can often find him cooking or bartending at the Lodge.
In his free time (whenever that is), he enjoys riding his Harley Davidson or his Kawasaki motorcycles with his wife, Marlene. He also enjoys cruising with his family.
