Ms. Donato is a solo practitioner who predominantly practices in divorce and family law. The practice also includes estate planning, probate and administration. Everything she does revolves around her core values of Honesty, Intergrity and Loyaly.
Ms. Donato knew she wanted to become a lawyer at a very young age. It was the idea of defending the rights of others and preventing the miscarriage of justice that always appealed to her. She earned her undergraduate degree from Hofstra University in 1985 and deferred her plans of attending law school for a while, working instead as a comptroller for a Long Island company. Ms. Donato attended Touro Law School from 1990 to 1992, earning her degree in just two and a half years, while a single mother of a young child.
It was her Family Court externship while in law school that set the direction of her practice. She immediately found family law to be a natural fit, having previously appearred as a pro se Family Court litigant herself. Ms. Donato identfies with her clients and is eager to provide the professional assistance she knows, first hand, to be essential.
Ms. Donato has served as a District Court Arbitrator for 25 years. She is a Delegate to the Women's Bar Association of the State of New York, Treasurer of the Suffolk County Women's Bar Association, a member of the SCBA Matrimonial and Family Law Committee as well as a member of the Suffolk County Matrimonial Bar Association. She vounteers for the SCBA Mock Trial program as well as the SCBA Pro Bono Program, the East Islip School Business Partnership and teaches religion at St. Mary's Church.
