More About Jammie L. Wacenske

Ever since she was a child, Jammie has always wanted to become an attorney. Over the years of watching her peers suffer through divorce, abuse, and neglect, she quickly became interested in pursuing a career in family law.

Driven by her determination to help families and those in need, she began her collegiate career at Nash Community College in Rocky Mount, North Carolina. During her time at NCC, she was the Parliamentarian for the Gamma Beta Phi Honor Society and she was chosen by staff and faculty to represent the school at the Student Leadership Institute. In addition to participating in these activities, she made time in her studies to work three jobs while attending NCC.

After completing the College Transfer program at Nash Community College, she attended North Carolina Wesleyan College where she graduated Cum Laude and received her B.A. in History with a minor in Political Science. While at NCWC she developed a passion for political science and joined the political science honor society, Pi Sigma Alpha. In her final semester, her dreams became a reality when she was accepted into North Carolina Central University School of law.

At NCCU, she continued to be an active participant in campus activities. She was a member of the Intellectual Property Law Society, but devoted most of her time to the Pro Bono program which allowed her to help people who were less fortunate and in need of legal assistance. She participated in the Elder Law Project where she was able to gain experience writing wills for clients and the Lawyer on the Line Project where she assisted Legal Aid by providing clients with legal guidance as to how to handle their landlord-tenant matters. Jammie closed out her final year at law school through an externship with the Honorable Lori G. Christian of the Wake County Family Court writing pro se orders.

Jammie is the oldest of six children. She has two sisters and three brothers and visits her family as often as possible. She has a passion for music and knows how to play the French Horn, Alto Saxophone, Tenor Saxophone, and the Flute. In her spare time, she enjoys learning how to paint, sew, and knit with her friends.
