Jackson Lofgren has spent his career in courtrooms throughout North Dakota. He has successfully tried many jury trials. As an Assistant Morton County States Attorney he handled matters ranging from juvenile and traffic hearings to homicides, sex offenses, and major drug trafficking cases.
A native of McLaughlin, South Dakota, Jackson attended Northern State University where he played football for the Wolves and worked at the local Boys and Girls Club. He received his law degree from the University of South Dakota School of Law. During law school, he attended the Institute on World Legal Problems in Innsbruck, Austria, where he took a class taught by United States Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O'Connor.
Jackson is a past president of the Bruce M. Van Sickle American Inns of Court and the North Dakota Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. He has been named one of the Top 100 Criminal Defense Lawyers and one of the Top 40 Under 40 by the National Trial Lawyers. He has been recognized as a Top Rated Criminal Defense Attorney and Rising Star by Super Lawyers. He is a member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and serves as a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation. He is admitted to practice law in North Dakota, South Dakota, and the United States District Court for the District of North Dakota.
