Jarvis Law Office, P.C.

I went to law school a little later in life than most attorneys. My original training was as a financial advisor. I’ve worked for some of the biggest firms on Wall Street. My career was going very well until things started to change within my family. We noticed that my grandmother was starting to “slip”. Her doctor said that my grandmother was starting to show signs of dementia. Over the next few years, Grandma’s dementia progressed. I will never forget the day that she walked into her living room where I was reading and with a look of sheer terror on her face, asked me who I was (she had no idea why this strange man was in her house).
From there things went down-hill pretty quickly. Soon enough it became obvious that my Grandmother, a widow, could no longer live in her home. It was at this point that I started doing research to figure out what options were available to her, both from a care standpoint as well as to try to protect what assets my Grandmother had left. However, it seemed that everywhere I turned to try to get answers to the questions I had, I would get conflicting information; or I would get just a small piece of the answer. It was incredibly frustrating trying to navigate the maze of issues facing my grandmother.
Through my research I uncovered a little known legal specialty referred to as elder law. As luck would have it, there was an elder law attorney in the same small town that my Grandmother lived in. After consulting with the attorney and seeing the plan he put in place for my Grandmother, I knew that I wanted to be involved with helping families who were going through similar situations. I realized that if I had that much difficulty trying to find the answers, that other people were probably experiencing the same thing. That fall I started law school with the specific intent to become an elder law attorney. Today, Jarvis Law Office is dedicated to helping the elderly and their families plan for the legal, financial and emotional aspects of a long-term health crisis. Part of this type of planning is making sure that a person’s wishes are carried out through comprehensive estate planning. If you or a family member are facing health issues that make staying at home safely more difficult, or if your loved one is already in a nursing home, I invite you to call Jarvis Law Office for a no-cost consultation. At the conclusion of our meeting, I’ll tell you what options are available to you and if I think our firm can help, I will quote you a one-time flat fee for our services. However, there's no obligation on your part. I look forward to meeting with you soon,
