Attorney
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, 73120
David provides his clients with the same personal and dedicated attention he would want to receive if he were being provided legal representation. He is honest and direct with his clients. He tells his clients what they need to hear without worrying about whether it is what they want to hear. Too many attorneys worry about whether their client is going to like the advice or the news the attorney has to share. Not David - he knows the stakes are high, he knows what his job is, and he knows what his clients expect.
David was born and raised in Oklahoma. He attended Oklahoma State University and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration in 2002. The following year David entered law school at Oklahoma City University. He worked days as a Deputy Court Clerk at the Oklahoma County Courthouse and attended law school in the evenings. As a Deputy Court Clerk, he gained valuable insight and experience assigned as the clerk for a District Court Judge with a felony docket. David earned his Juris Doctor, cum laude, in 2007, graduating in the top 10% of his class.
Following law school, David became a full-time Assistant District Attorney in Oklahoma County. In that role, he was assigned to a variety of different types of cases, including but not limited to civil-asset forfeiture, expungements, bond forfeitures, process-server licensing, and civil commitments. David also served on the Legislative Committee for the District Attorneys Council, which is responsible for reviewing and proposing legislative changes on matters impacting the state criminal justice system.
In 2014, David became the General Counsel for the Oklahoma Department of Corrections at only 33 years of age. He was responsible for all legal matters of DOC, which included overseeing all cases in litigation, providing legal advice to executive staff and members of the Board of Corrections, drafting and reviewing contracts, policies, and legislative proposals, and ensuring DOC's compliance with state and federal laws. He was also responsible for overseeing and supervising the work of four other attorneys and all other staff assigned to DOC's Office of the General Counsel.
Knowing the time was right to put his experience and knowledge to work for those in need of legal services, David formed Cincotta Law Office, PLLC in 2019 and began his career in private practice. David is very personable, empathetic, and an outstanding communicator.
David has personal experience in thousands of cases. Over the last ten-plus years, David has appeared in court thousands of times in a variety of types of cases. He knows the system and tricks other attorneys and law enforcement use to try to gain an advantage. David also knows the criminal justice system as well as, if not better than, most attorneys in the state. David is dedicated to his clients and keeps them regularly updated. He understands all aspects of the law and welcomes the opportunity to help you.
