First and foremost, Shawn’s faith in Christ and moral values completely line up with those of Will’s. Shawn also brings a unique perspective to Will Parker Law, LLC through his former experience as a youth director and public educator, in addition to many years of defending personal injury lawsuits. Shawn’s motivation to attend law school was to advocate for those in need and he looks forward to advancing the mission of Will Parker Law by exceeding client expectations through anticipation of client needs, professionalism, accessibility, and obtaining results without compromising principles. Shawn and Will both believe God’s hand was involved with the decision for him to join the firm and both are excited to see what God has in store!
Shawn has undergraduate degrees in biology (1996) and music education (2000), magna cum laude, from Winthrop University. After working in a church as a youth director and then as a music educator for several years, Shawn attended Regent University School of Law in Virginia Beach, VA where he was a Student Bar Association Senator and was commissioned by Alliance Defending Freedom as a Blackstone Legal Fellow. Shawn graduated from Regent, cum laude, in 2007 and throughout his career to date, has been blessed with the opportunity to work with outstanding civil defense firms in Columbia, Hartsville, and Camden, as well as advocating for religious liberties at a firm in Chicago.
Shawn is a graduate of the South Carolina Defense Trial Attorney Association Trial Academy and the Alliance Defending Freedom National Litigation Academy. Shawn has served as a former President of the Kershaw County Bar Association and served on the South Carolina Bar Fifth Circuit Pro Bono Committee. Shawn also served on the Board of Directors for United Way of Kershaw County and Midlands Women’s Center and is an Alliance Defending Freedom Allied Attorney.
Shawn and his family are excited to join the Grand Strand community. Shawn’s wife, Amy, is a former public educator and has homeschooled their five children, Gabriel, Micah, Tobias, Delaney, and Keeley, for the past eleven years. The Sullivan’s oldest son, Gabriel, will be a freshman at the University of South Carolina this fall (Go Cocks!). Shawn and Amy are actively involved in church ministry and have volunteered as a family with Love, Serve, Give, a ministry to the homeless population of Kershaw County. When not working for our clients, Shawn enjoys spending time with my family, reading, travel, exercise, and Gamecock athletics.
