His law pedigree speaks for itself. Mr. Sralla earned his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Wayne State University School of Law in December of 1999, where he served as the Associate Editor to the Wayne Law Review during the Fall of 1999 and previously as the Assistant Editor in 1998-99. While attending Wayne State School of Law, Mr. Sralla was the recipient of several honors and Awards, including earning the Richard B. Gushee Writing Award for Best Note Published Wayne Law Review, 1999; the Bronze Key Certificate for Academic Achievement in 1998 and 1999; Honors in Legal Writing and Research during the Fall of 1996 and Winter of 1997; and the top score on the First Year Appellate Oral Argument in 1997.
He is the author of “The Search for Harmful Prejudice: An Analysis of People v. Budzyn and the Underlying Purpose of the Jury System,” 46 Wayne L. Rev. 259 (2000). From 2000 to 2001, Mr. Sralla served as the Judicial Clerk to Justice Marilyn J. Kelly of the Michigan Supreme Court, where he drafted published opinions and advised Justice Kelly closely on matters pending before the Court. Following his judicial clerkship, Mr. Sralla worked for the metro-Detroit firm of Raymond & Prokop, P.C. as an Associate, where his practice focused on Commercial Litigation, Appeals, and Insurance Defense. He tried multiple jury trials successfully and handled appeals on both the state and federal levels. In 2003, Mr. Sralla relocated his practice to the metro-Detroit firm of Blanco Wilczynski, P.C.
His practice consisted of Commercial Litigation and Healthcare Law. The highlight of his tenure at Blanco Wilczynski was his successful defense of Greyhound Lines in a multi-million dollar personal injury lawsuit, stemming from a bus rollover accident. Desiring to move closer to family, Mr. Sralla relocated his family to San Antonio and opened Sralla Law Offices in March 2006. Since establishing his Texas practice, Mr. Sralla has focused on a variety of civil and criminal litigation matters, including divorce, child custody, child support, employment discrimination, commercial litigation, construction law, small business counseling, wills and trusts, and real estate transactions.
Prior to law school, Mr. Sralla graduated from the University of Texas at Austin where he received a Bachelor of Journalism in May of 1991. He worked as a Reporter and Columnist for “The Oakland Press” in Pontiac, Mich., and “The Monitor” in McAllen, Texas, between 1991 and 1997. He is married to Patty Sandoval Sralla, and has two sons, Paolo and Stephen.
