Attorney
Tustin, California, 92780
Marlin G. Stapleton, Jr. is a graduate of the Western State University College of Law. The year of his graduation, 1983, he also passed the state bar exam and began his practice defending the rights and interests of the accused. For more than three decades, he has practiced exclusively in the criminal defense practice area, gaining unparalleled legal insight and ascending to some of the industry's most accomplished stations.
As a criminal defense lawyer, Attorney Stapleton quickly built a reputation for winning "unwinnable" cases. Even in cases where the evidence was characterized as "overwhelmingly" against the accused, Attorney Stapleton consistently secured favorable results for his client-- even when he has had to pursue results in the California Supreme Court or federal court to do so. This high-quality work has not only gained the respect of judges, prosecutors, and his peers, but also an appointment to the Orange County Superior Court Homicide Panel. Since 1989, he has navigated more than 50 murder cases and tried more than 30 of them to verdict.
Along with his position on the Homicide Panel, Attorney Stapleton also remains an appointed attorney to the Orange County Superior Court Capital Defense Panel. In this highly exclusive panel of fewer than 10 attorneys, members are rigorously vetted and must comply with the stringent guidelines set forth by the American Bar Association (ABA). Attorney Stapleton's work has earned other industry honors, as well.
