Rick is a graduate of Rochester Institute of Technology, where he received a bachelor’s degree in chemistry. Rick is a 1983 cum laude graduate of Albany Law School, where he served as managing editor of the Albany Law Review.
Rick began his legal career at Nixon, Hargrave, Devans & Doyle (now Nixon Peabody), a large law firm head quartered in Rochester, New York. There, he received training in the areas of individual and corporate taxation. Rick then spent six years in Boston working for a firm specializing in tax and estate planning for individuals of high net worth.
Rick has been a shareholder of Lisman Leckerling for over 20 years. He concentrates his practice in the areas of estate planning, business transitions, tax planning, corporate transactions, and probate matters. He has over 30 years of experience in these fields. Rick currently serves on the board of the Dorset Park Skating Association, and is a member of the Vermont Bar Association.
Rick’s outside interests include whitewater canoeing, ice climbing, hiking, mountaineering, and sailing.
