More About Jeffrey Kippa

Attorney Jeffrey P. Kippa has been practicing law in Wisconsin since 2001.

With dozens of criminal defense attorneys already practicing in the Fox Valley, why did I start my own firm?

Simply put, I try to put myself in my client’s shoes, to understand their fears, frustrations and concerns.

When people find themselves in the position of needing a criminal defense attorney, often times they are at extreme low points in their lives. While every case is different, each person charged needs a guide – someone to show the criminal justice system (the prosecutor, the judge, sometimes the public) that they are not the person they are being portrayed to be. And, that’s what I want to be: their guide.

Choosing the Right Approach

Saying that I am an aggressive trial attorney who will take your case to trial is true. But, it is only part of the whole picture.

Pre-trial and sometimes pre-charging tactics and techniques can often times spare someone the uncertainty, emotional stress and financial burden of a trial. Having the insight and tact to deal with prosecutors, being able to develop a rapport with not only judges but also prosecutors, while coupling that with a sense of compassion for my clients, a sensitivity for the sense of uncertainty they feel, will help my clients reach the appropriate outcome, and leave them with a sense that their voice was heard and not swallowed by the system.

Here’s the Truth

Like many good criminal defense attorneys, I love to take cases to trial. It is easily the best part of the job. That doesn’t mean it is the best thing for my clients.

Unfortunately, I often hear of other, unscrupulous attorneys promising potential clients certain outcomes. To me, this defines the word “unethical.” There are so many variables that affect the outcome of a case (such as the prosecutor, the wishes of the alleged victim, the judge and, most importantly, the facts of the case), that no attorney can promise you an outcome.

Promises to My Clients

These are the promises I make to my clients:

  • I will be compassionate, understanding with what they are going through;
  • I will be available if an emergency arises;
  • I will be prompt in addressing concerns;
  • I will litigate the case to the fullest extent that benefits them;
  • I will keep them apprised of the status of their case during each step of the process;
  • I will be approachable and accessible (you will not get stuck voicing concerns to a staff person, but rather with me directly);
  • And, should the day come, I promise that I will gladly present their case to a jury and fight my hardest to prevail.

Not many defense attorneys will give you their cell phone number. That’s just one example of the fresh approach I bring to my criminal defense clients. And, just one of the reasons I decided to start J. Kippa Law Office.
